Why We No Longer Sell on Etsy

It has been an honor to provide our products and services to the on-line community, however, we can no longer sustain our Etsy Storefront.

Several of our valued customers suggested that we offer our goods and services on Etsy. We weighed the pros and cons and in July 2024, we opened an Etsy shop.

By December of 2024 we had amassed over $550 in sales - paid out-of-pocket to ship these items, and been paid a total of $68.86.

We cannot offer our valued Etsy customers competitive prices, invest hundreds in out-of-pocket expenses (merchandise, shipping and packaging), and sustain our brick-and-mortar operation all while being denied access to the funds generated by our love and labor. 

Additionally, the fee structure Etsy applies to its seller community is excessive. If I collect $7.95 USD for shipping, go to the post office, pay $7.95 to ship the item - and Etsy charges me a "Shipping transaction fee" - 6.5% of shipping total. 

In total, we had sales around $550 Etsy applied fees of $106.63 - and withheld payment for over a month.  We paid for shipping - around $130.00 out-of-pocket - That's approximately $236.63 in shipping and fees. Our merchandise represents a wholesale investment of hundreds of dollars - and Etsy assures me that I will receive the "full" $300 ish in 'proceeds' within 90 days....

Sadly, this is not sustainable and we can no longer participate in the Etsy on-line marketplace.
